You asked for it! :-)
When the word got out about NewTek working on a project called the
"Toaster", naturally everybody wanted to know what it did. For a long
time, the NewTek reps (Mark Randall,etc) said on the online conferences
that the Toaster was a device that was going to be sold to the large
hotel chains (Hilton, etc) that would use lasers to imprint the Hotel's
name/logo onto their customer's toast! No, I'm not making this up! It
was all a good natured joke that grew & grew to the point of this device
having "laser jelly jets" for the customer's toast.
I guess you had to have been there :-)
It all was on Harv Laser's People-Link online services. He now runs
the Portal services with the same great online conferences.
